UPdates
Flu & Covid ​
All of the providers at Beacon Pediatrics, STRONGLY RECOMMEND all who are eligible 6 months of age and older get their flu vaccine annually. An updated version of the COVID vaccine is available and recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older as well. We want to have our patients as protected and prepared as they can be for the upcoming winter season. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to your provider and discuss further.
Urgent appointments:
If you're being seen for a sick appointment, masks are required. If you are being seen on the Urgent side at the Rehoboth office, masks are required for all patients and family that are accompanying (2 years of age and older). Masks are required not only to keep you, our patients safe and healthy, but also our staff so we may continue to serve you.
Well appointments:
Beacon Pediatrics will no longer be requiring masks for our patients on our Well side. Any patient (2 years of age and older) with a fever, cough, or vomiting will be required to wear a mask, and any accompanying family members will also need to wear a mask for our WELL SIDE.
If you arrive at the office without a mask, we will give you a mask for a $1 charge. All money collected will be donated to a local children’s charity. If you prefer your provider and staff wear a mask during your visit, please let us know. We are happy to accommodate your request.

ABOUT US
We are a dedicated, dynamic, collaborative, kind, and compassionate group of pediatric providers that proudly provide comprehensive pediatric primary care to newborns through late adolescence. We manage all aspects of well child care as well as most chronic medical conditions and acute problems. Many procedures can be done right in our office including immunizations, sutures, splinting, wart treatments, fluoride varnish, and much more.
We utilize the latest technology to streamline the complexities of modern medical care as much as possible. We encourage our families to use our patient portal to communicate with the office, request medication refills, access medical records, and ask questions directly to their provider. We offer online sick visit scheduling, digital check-in, and telehealth video visits when appropriate. We utilize various digital developmental screening tools and health assessment questionnaires, and have connectivity with Delaware’s immunization registry, health records, and newborn screenings.
In addition, although we are an independent practice, we have an excellent relationship with Beebe Healthcare and ready access to specialty care at Nemours Delaware Children’s Hospital.
Our patient's safety is of utmost importance to us, so we redesigned our office to minimize the risk of infection.
We no longer have a waiting room! Patients are brought directly from the front entrance to an exam room.
We have separate entrances and areas of the office to see our well and sick children.
Masks are required in our office for everyone 2 years old and up to protect our most vulnerable patients from COVID-19 and other illnesses, including those that are too young to be immunized or are immunocompromised.

Why a Pediatrician?
Pediatricians are trained to help you achieve healthy lifestyles for your child, offer advice to prevent illness and injuries, provide early and appropriate care of acute illness to prevent its progression, treat life-threatening childhood conditions and guide you in anticipating your child's needs from birth through late adolescence.
As part of our extensive training, pediatricians are experienced in the physical, emotional and social development of children. Children may be too young or shy to talk when they are seen at the doctor's office, and we understand the importance of listening carefully to your child and to you. We do our best to answer your questions or find you the answers and to help you to understand and promote your
child's health and development. We also address issues affecting a child's family and home environment.
Most importantly, we understand that children are not simply small adults. Children often present with different symptoms from adults and may need different prescriptions or treatments too.

Screenings
Developmental screenings are done at well checks through infancy, teen screens ages 14 and up, vision, and hearing screening, as well as metabolic newborn screenings. Depression and anxiety screenings are done from school age and up
